As my breed prefix, Inspiration, suggests I find cats truly inspiring.
My name is Jenny Carter and I live in North Yorkshire in the north
of England.
I have always adored and kept cats, mostly moggies, but several years ago
I decided to extend my hobby and began breeding pedigree cats. I researched
the multitude of cat breeds through books and visits to established breeders.
Time and again I returned to the Norwegian Forest Cat and realised this
was the breed for me.
From here I got to know breeders of Norwegians and in particular Lorraine
Brown of the Koolfur/Koolblue prefix. At the time Lorraine had some kittens available
and she invited me to meet them. So it was that I saw and fell in love
with Flame, an exquisite red/silver tabby and white Norwegian girl. |

As my friendship with Lorraine continued
we both became interested in another cat breed - the Siberian.
We investigated Siberian breeders throughout the world as at the time
there were no Siberian cats in Britain.
We established contacts with breeders in Germany, Russia and Italy. Importing
cats into the UK is a slow process but by 2003 we had a nucleus of queens
and a stud-boy and are making preparations for more arrivals in the future.
Establishing a new cat breed in the UK is a difficult task as this country has very strict import regulations. In 2006 we decided, after much thought, to concentrate all our efforts on the Siberian cats & to stop breeding Norwegians.

All are cats are treated as family pets & we endeavour to breed well-socialised, happy kittens who love human company.
Inspiration now work with other Siberian breeders, including Koolblue, Fluffytykes & Nellstars to make sure this delightful breed becomes recognised in the U.K.
