Topaz

(Coatville Princess Bonita).

 Topaz

Topaz is 5 years old and joined us at the beginning of the summer holidays in 2007.  She is a lovely natured pony and bonded very quickly with my daughter Alex.
At her very first show she got placed 4th and 5th and never having been to a show since she was a foal in-hand we were extremely pleased with her performance and we are looking forward to more shows in the future should she continue to improve.  She was also placed 7th with me in the Mountain and Moorland in-hand class.

It was Topaz’s birthday on the 27th of April and she was 6, on the same day as her birthday we were at a show at the Richmond Equestrian Centre and it was dressage. I’ve never done dressage before but I tried my best and 5th out of… 5. Yes I know I came last but I still had fun, everyone else was being lead or commanded though but I think me and Topaz did just enough.
For her birthday I bought her a card, that’s still on the shelf in her stable, a treat ball and some treats and I made her name out of hammer beads and she really enjoyed them.
We bought her for my birthday this year on the 13th of March. I think she’s happy to have moved here because she’s got two boyfriends Malibu and Sox.

She also has some other friends (that are girls) Mistral, Sprite and Twix, out of those three I think Twix is her best friend even though they are in a different field they are in a stable next to each other.
Topaz has a great temperament just like her mum did, that’s probably why she’s got so many boyfriends. Topaz can be really funny sometimes because sometimes when I ask her something she’ll answer by shaking or nodding her head and just the other day she was acting weirdly so I said to her “Are you in a mood and she looked at me like a grumpy teenager. It was the same day I was having a lesson and Topaz can change moods really quickly so when I was riding she was really good.

Once I was jumping on her and my position was all wrong and when she landed I landed on her withers holding on to her neck so I didn’t fall off anyway instead of putting her head down she kept her head up until I got back into the saddle so I didn’t fall off.
